What should the Dems do now?
In a time when Democratic voices are muted at best, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has made it his mission to fiercely defend democratic ideals. In an era of extreme partisan politics, Governor Pritzker dishes out hard truths to both Democrats and Republicans alike, using his position to speak out for health care accessibility, reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ protection, education, gun violence prevention, and economic development. He was the first governor in the country to sign legislation banning book banning in Illinois, making it illegal for libraries to restrict access to books based on partisan disapproval. While championing socially progressive issues, he has made Illinois one of the most favorable places in the country for business.
If his movies and television series weren’t enough, Billy Ray became a viral and cultural sensation when he wrote the iconic AMC ad featuring Nicole Kidman, an ad which celebrates the magic of the movie experience. Billy Ray is an award-winning screenwriter for both television and film. Among his credits are The Hunger Games, The Last Tycoon, Captain Phillips, The Comey Rule, and Shattered Glass. He is among the most respected and successful writers in Hollywood. He is the author of a forthcoming novel called Burn the Water.
