Writers Bloc presents legendary campaign organizer Ben Wikler (Wisconsin) with Jon Favreau

Ben Wikler is a political organizer and strategist who did for Wisconsin what Democratic activists want to do throughout the country. Wikler, who headed the Wisconsin Democratic Party from 2019 to 2025, oversaw statewide political elections and through grassroots organizing, won a majority of those races. His campaign organizing in Wisconsin became legendary, as he turned the party around and raised almost a quarter of a billion dollars for Wisconsin’s Democratic.

His new book, This is the Plan: How to End America’s Meltdown and Save Democracy, is a guide to organizing on every level. Wikler is a born storyteller; he includes great stories on the most local races we can have (school board) to presidential campaigns. Wisconsin Democrats fared well under Wikler’s leadership; perhaps other major organizing groups should take a look.

Jon Favreau knows his way around campaigns, spending a great deal of time advocating for progressive candidates all over the country. He was  an Obama speechwriter, after having worked on Obama’s first presidential campaign in that capacity. Jon is one of the geniuses behind Crooked Media, which hosts the landmark podcasts Pod Save the World and Pod Save America, among many others. Crooked Media is one of the most influential new media companies in the country, specializing in platforming progressive thought leaders.
